US Hybrid/US FuelCell Becomes CHBC Platinum Member, Joins CHBC Board of Directors


Manufacturer of fuel cell engines and power conversion systems for medium and heavy-duty transportation applications upgrades to highest membership class


Los Angeles, CA – August 29, 2016 – Today, the California Hydrogen Business Council announced the appointment of Dr. Abas Goodarzi, President and CEO of US Hybrid to the Board of Directors.
US Hybrid Corporation, established in 1999, specializes in the design and manufacture of powertrain components and systems for medium and heavy-duty electric, hybrid, and fuel cell commercial buses and trucks to enable them to become more reliable and fuel-efficient, with lower emissions and better responsiveness. The company recently introduced the first freeze-capable integrated fuel cell engine for medium and heavy-duty vehicle markets.The company has also announced a Strategic Collaboration Agreement with Sumitomo Corporation, also a new CHBC Member, to expand fuel cell stack production capacity for commercial vehicles.

US FuelCell is a wholly owned subsidiary of US Hybrid with more than 26 years of experience in fuel cell balance of plant components and vehicle development and deployment. US FuelCell was established in 2013 after the purchase of the UTC Power PEM fuel cell Transportation division. US FuelCell, a premier manufacturer of the first freeze-capable integrated fuel cell engine, is targeting medium and heavy-duty vehicle markets.
“US Hybrid joined the CHBC last year, to participate in the Council’s Goods Movement, Heavy Duty Transportation, and Clean Ports market activities, and develop deeper business and government relationships in California. US Hybrid joins CHBC’s ten other Platinum Members which are South Coast Air Quality Management District, Bay Area Air Quality Management District, AC Transit, Ballard Power Systems, Fuel Cell Energy, Hydrogenics, Pacific Gas & Electric, Plug Power, Southern California Gas Company and Toyota. As a Platinum member, US Hybrid is eligible to appoint one company representative to CHBC’s Board of Directors, and receives an array of other benefits, including increased recognition in CHBC activities.
